OnePlus is one brand that keeps releasing new software updates to its older phones. The OnePlus 3 and 3T has received the Oxygen OS 5.0.3 update which brings along a lot of new features including Face unlock. OnePlus 5T is the first smartphone from the brand to sport this facial recognition system, then it later got to the OnePlus 5 via a software update, and to owners of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T starting from yesterday.

It’s worth noting that Face Unlock is faster than Face ID on the Apple iPhone X, but is not as secure. However, after five unsuccessful attempts to unlock a OnePlus phone using the facial recognition system, it is disabled while the user is forced to use the fingerprint scanner, PIN or a pattern to get into the phone.
